We will teach you the skills and knowledge to excel in industrial sewing.

Our 1 day course is designed for beginners or experienced machinists looking to start something new and needing a bespoke course to work through it. Learn through hands-on training on our industrial sewing machines.

You will learn about threads - which ones to use and which ones to NOT use

All about Needles - different types for different jobs

Machine feet - different types for different things and some that are helpful anyway

Controlling your machine - techniques for sewing different materials

Tailored step by step sewing exercises for what you want to achieve

Tension - Understanding tensions, how to set it and how to put it right

Oil - set up, changing your oil and types of oil

Attachments - setting them up and using them

General seams - why certain seams are used depending on what you will be sewing

General maintenance - and the affects if you dont do this

Problem solving - common things to look out for and how to get out of them

Tools - what they are for on your machine

Servicing your machine - how to service your machine and when

Timing - knowing if your timing is out and how to sort it

Lots of other tips and advice during the day

Do's & Dont's - especially things to definitely not do

​​The course runs from 9.30am - 3.00pm​

​

Accommodation is not provided, but there are many B&Bs/Hotels in the area of the workshop. You can find options on Booking.com and Airbnb. Travelodges and Premier Inns are also available within a 20-minute drive.

Course materials, tea, and coffee are included. You'll need to bring your own lunch, but there are nearby places to buy food.

​

To book we require a deposit of £100 with the rest due by the start of the course.
